Xiaomei Tong

Financial Analyst

What drives me is…
the curiosity to domains that I’ve never been involved in and the eagerness to learn. I also want to meet new people and learn from them as well as build close connections with them.

I’m working in venture capital because…
I’ve learned a lot about financial analysis and I want to practice my knowledge. It’s an important step to pave my career path to be an outstanding banker or investor or entrepreneur.

I am fascinated by…
the creativity of entrepreneurs, which is one of the most important engines driving progress in our society. I also appreciate the diversity of our world which makes our life more interesting and appealing.

Great founders…
know where the company should go and know how to reunite the members.

From the future I expect…
I could be distinguished in my career. I wish I could realize my personal value in my work.

Hire people who…
share the company values and are self-motivated.

The value that most represents me is…
self-esteem. I respect myself so I do my best in everything that I do. I also want to get respect from other people by making contributions to society or other achievements.

GründerAtelier is…
a family. We are a great team, and we spend a lot of time with each other not just for work, but also to share our daily lives. Each member is very considerate and helpful. It is also like a university for me. I really appreciate the professional capacities of my colleagues, they teach me a lot about how to be a good financial analyst.

Background: I have done six-month and four-month internships in Chinese investment bankings, each focusing on IPOs. I also have working experience in equity research about the entertainment industry and cross-board logistic industry.

Studies: I got my bachelor degree in economics in China in 2019 and graduated as a top 5 student with honors. Then I went to ESCP Business School to pursue my master degree in management. I stayed at the Paris campus for the first year and now I’m in Berlin to study my specialisation of CFO. It is also my last semester.

Interests:  I like listening to music and watching movies, and if the holiday is long enough, I will travel.
